“We will get you results within 3 months or we will work for free until we do.”
This is the biggest lie I have ever heard, and I see it with more and more marketing agencies every week. Common sense, which digital marketing agency is going to work for free? How can a company survive or grow whilst working for free? There is no such thing as work for free.
Let me tell you how this works:
- They choose targets they know they will easily hit, and those targets will not grow your business
- Their whole company is structured with knowing many of their clients will go into work for free anyway, but they don’t care as they have already made their money within 3 months across many customers. Your standard churn and burn strategy.
- Furthermore, a lot of these companies lock you in contracts, which the contract pauses when you go into work for free, so if you want to cancel you need to pay out the rest of the contract or you will be going to VCAT which you will most likely lose as you agreed to the companies terms and conditions.
So when you see these fruit loops talking about how they will work for free if they don’t get you results, just know they already have plans to hold you and your business hostage if they don’t get you results.
